Accessibility and Accommodations
This guide summarizes accessibility, accommodations, and known issues. It will be updated as more details come together. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact us by email at hello@northbaypython.org or speak to an organizer or volunteer in-person.
Accessibility
- Vision Issues: We have seating reserved at the front of the venue.
- Hearing Issues: We offer live open captioning of every session of the conference.
- Mobility Issues: We have seating reserved at the front of the venue and there is an ADA-compliant bathroom. There are some slopes and uneven concrete surfaces, but no stairs between the bathroom and the barn.
- Service Animals: We welcome service animals. We expect to have a designated area for responsible animal relief.
Accommodations
- Financial Aid / Scholarships: We want you to be able to attend North Bay Python. We will have a way for you to request a free ticket and apply for financial aid.
- Gender Neutral Bathrooms: There is a single bathroom on-site and it is gender neutral.
- Quiet / Rest Area: There are walking trails, an oak grove, and a pond on-site which you are welcome to enjoy.
Dietary Restrictions
We will cater lunch, drinks, and snacks at North Bay Python and will do our best to cater to dietary restrictions noted in your registration.
Parents with Children
We’ve previously offered accommodations including changing tables and private rooms for parents to nurse or pump milk. We hope to offer something similar this year, and are working on those details with the venue.
We expect to offer free childcare again during the conference. We worked with Corporate Kids Events the last two years we ran North Bay Python and would likely work with them again. Please email us to let us know if you’d value this!
